Sports Facilities in Cassiobury Park

Football
There are five football pitches in the park with goals in place during the season. On Sunday mornings the pitches are used by some teams of two local football leagues (Watford Sunday League and Olympian Sunday League).

Gaelic Football
A temporary Gaelic Football pitch has been put in place between the bowling green and the lone cedar for the 2015 season, which runs from March to November. This will be used by Glen Rovers Hurling and Football Club whilst a new pitch is prepared for them at their new home on Radlett Road playing fields. For details of fixtures see HertsGAA

Cricket [A]
In summer a cricket square is maintained.

Fishing
Carpdell lakeFishing is free on the river Gade but you need a licence. For more information please contact Watford Council’s Leisure and Community services on 01923 27833 or at community@watford.gov.uk

Watford Piscators own the fishing rights on the Grand Union Canal as it passes through the park and local lakes. More details are available on their website here. Park and Evans pounds are the nearest to Cassiobury Park.

The Carpdell Fishery is based at the recently restored Cassiobury Farm, near Gade Bank towards the South-West of the park, see CassioburyFarm

Bowls [C]
Watford Bowls Club have a green and clubhouse on land within the park.

Tennis [D, E, G]
There are both grass and hard courts along the southern side of the park either side of the Shepherds Roads entrance. There is no booking system and the tennis courts can be used for free.

Croquet [F]
Watford (Cassiobury) Croquet Club have three lawns located near to The Cha Cafe. More information is available on the club website.

Basketball [E]
A basketball court is located in between The Cha Cafe and the Bowls Green, alongside hard tennis courts.
