Sporting Events

Watford Half Marathon:
Organised by the Watford Harriers this February event usually attracts around 3,000 runners and is one of the first large half-marathon events of the year in the south of the country. Watford half marathon website

Watford 10k:
Held on the May Day bank holiday each year this 'charity fun run' through the bluebell woods starts and finishes in Cassiobury Park. There is a limit of 1,200 places in the main race and there are also popular junior 1k and 3k races attracting around 400 entries. Watford 10k website.

Race for Life (Watford):
In 2009 this annual event raising money for Cancer Research UK was held on Sunday 28 June 2009. There is a 5km race and also a 10km race both of which start at 11:00. Each year there are 5,000 spaces and around £350,000 is raised for Cancer Research UK. Race for life website (Watford)

Entertainment

Fireworks display:
Cassiobury Park fireworks and bonfire night, once billed as the largest free fireworks display in Hertfordshire, takes place on the Saturday nearest November the fifth. The 2009 event, held on 7th November, attracted 40,000 people who raised over £5,000 for local charities.

Fun Fair:
A funfair with various rides and sideshows normally comes to the park at the start of the May half-term (Spring bank holiday weekend).

Circus:
Easter 2008 saw a circus in the park for the first time.

Motor Show:
In 2007 and 2008 the Watford Observer Hertfordshire Motor Show was held in Cassiobury Park. The show was situated above the car park in the area where the funfair is normally held.

Play Day:
Held in August and organised by Watford Council.
