Sporting Events

Watford Half Marathon:
Organised by the Watford Harriers this February event usually attracts around 3,000 runners and is one of the first large half-marathon events of the year in the south of the country. Watford half marathon website

Watford 10k:
Held on the May Day bank holiday each year this 'charity fun run' through the bluebell woods starts and finishes in Cassiobury Park. There is a limit of 1,200 places in the main race and there are also popular junior 1k and 3k races attracting around 400 entries. Watford 10k website.

Race for Life (Watford): In 2008 the race was held on June 29th. Each year there are 5,000 spaces and around £350,000 is raised for Cancer Research UK. Race for life website (Watford)

Entertainment

Fireworks display:
A free fireworks display, once billed as the largest free display in Hertfordshire, takes place on the Saturday nearest November the fifth. There is no longer a bonfire since Watford Council took over the organisation of the event from Watford Round Table.

Fun Fair:
A funfair normally comes to the park one bank holiday weekend a year.

Circus:
Easter 2008 saw a circus in the park for the first time.

Motor Show:
The Watford Observer Hertfordshire Motor Show has been held in Cassiobury Park since 2007. The 2008 show is being held on 12th-13th July 2008. The show is situated above the car park in the area where the funfair is normally held.

Play Day:
Held in August and organised by Watford Council.
